Newcastle Upon Tyne
This block paved driveway was installed this summer in the Chapel Park area of Newcastle upon Tyne. Originally the customer didn’t want a box standard area installed and were looking for something a little different. Eventually Stone Beamish Cobble block paving was chosen and the design was created. The garden and driveway in Newcastle was all on different heights and the customer no longer wanted this.
They wanted the driveway and garden all paved and accessible from either side allowing extra parking. A new brick wall was installed at the front and a gravel centre piece for the middle. The Stone Beamish cobbles in Newcastle are becoming more and more popular and its easy to see why. This Driveway is in line to be sealed, strongly recommended for long term protection.
The specification for this driveway came direct from the customer, they had decided that two people in the street had Beamish Cobbles and the rest had normal block paving, so something different was on the cards. They already had a fifteen year old driveway of hexagon block paving when we arrived and wanted something stylish but very different. After a good chat with our estimators we were able to settle on the tobermore paving range and the graphite colour. Once work began the old driveway was quickly dispersed of and a new base and improved outline installed. The area was fitted with charcoal boot kerbs to add strength and excellent visual appeal. The lighter border paving you can see is sienna paving also installed for a beautiful border all the way round. The graphite paving then went down to finish a first class installation.
A few weeks later the customer decided to go with our highly recommended sealing programme. Its not a must to have new paving sealed but can make the world of difference protecting the paving long term.
The owner of this property found that they didn’t have time for the garden and the front of the house needed a change! They were also looking to have the driveway opened up as to allow for a second car. They had a friend who had recently had Beamish Cobbles installed from us here at Total Driveways and decided to choose the same although there choice of Beamish Cobble colour was brindle.
The old walling would have looked completely out of place along side the new block paving so Red Antique garden walls were installed. The customer required a much larger than normal front step for access reasons and this was also created. Aco storm drains were fitted across the front of the driveway to abide with current planning regulations there for no need to apply for planning permission. With the brick walls erected and the driveway paving laid Total Driveways were pleased to have another happy customer.
